Apparently the iPhone seems to have troubles with ringing in sleep mode for some users. But read for yourself:
My phone doesn’t ring once it goes into sleep mode. No telling how many business calls I missed. I had the phone less then 24 hours and ATT wouldn’t replace it. Took it to the Apple store, now I have to wait until they get more phones in for a replacement. I can’t believe this uttler lack of service from both ATT and Apple. Never again.
This report has been submitted through the iPhone complaint form.
Liza reports:
I come from the treo 650 with goodlink for wireless synch. I loved my treo although it’s not as glitzy as the iphone.
The iphone, however, I find to be more of a toy than a real business tool.
1. It doesn’t sync tasks without a third party application and when I set up the third party application I found that I can’t view the whole task name without clicking on a bunch of different buttons.
2. I can’t sync notes except for using a web based application that slows my machine down.
3. my iphone is super slow especially to pull up contacts when I am trying to make a phone call or just look someone up.
These are my major complaints right now, but I’m sure there are more. It’s just not as quick and efficient as my treo was. So sad cuz it’s pretty.
Oh, and I can’t copy and paste and it’s really hard to select text even when I get that third party application that allows you to copy cut and past in their own little notes program.
It seems to be that there are sometimes problems in the network coverage with AT&T:
I received my iPhone as a gift from my wife. While there are so many neat uses for the device the “phone” portion just sucks. I’m in a prime coverage location for AT&T and only have 1 bar or no service. I used to have Verizon and had great reception, never lost a call even. Everybody at work that has one complains about the same two problems, no service with the phone and lousy customer service from Apple inc. Many of us are waiting for the contract to expire and then jump back to Verizon or T-mobile. I think Apple is going to see a huge exodus of customers in the next 2 years as phone contracts expire.
Received through the iPhone complaint form.
This is something unusual I have never heard of:
I made a very important note on my iphone. I needed to rely on this info. I was editing the note in the middle of the page. I hit the back space key once and in front of my eyes it kept deleting everything the top half of my note (letter by letter). I called apple and they said they never heard of it. None the less it happened and the screen and my hands were dry and clean. So I guess I am just shit out of luck, whatever that means.
The following very interesting comment was emailed e thorugh the iPhone complaint form:
It is interessting to see how customers are dealt with that return their phone, but read for yourself:
The Apple Iphone ripoff
My son’s iphone’s touchscreen starts having issues with certain areas not responding to touch in less than a month after the 1 year apple warranty. So I went to the Apple Store and complained about it. The ripoff.
They took back the phone I paid for $600 (they said is a policy, where is the policy?)
They gave me a refurbished phone that I paid for $199 (why do we pay sales tax on a refurbished phone if the tax have been paid for from the original purchase? Isn’t that double taxation??)
They warranty the phone they gave me for 90 days only (Found that out after I got home and read the receipt. I was not even told about the 90 day only warranty)Apple at Mission Viejo
Have you experiencd similar issues with the Apple customer support service?
Bruce emailed me his problems with the iPhone:
I am one of the org. I Phone purchaser’s and had a problem with the external speaker 4 to 6 weeks after purchase. I returned the phone for repair and received it back several days latter. Less than a year later, 6 to 8 weeks ago the problem started again. I called Apple for service and they would be happy to repair but, for a fee. Now I’m left with two options, being out of pocket for the repair or, running over the phone and purchasing one that works. Both options stink. THANKS for the great customer service Apple.
To make matters worse, I complained on the Apple “Discussions” SITE and they censored my post by removel. What a great group to do business with. I’ll warm up the car and get started.
Bruce
I believe especially for those tech savy early adopters of the first iPhone generarion Apple should be very fair as Apple is a company that depends on the early odpters fot their products.
Here are the latest iPhone complaints I have received through the iPhone complaint form:
This phone drops every other call. Most of the time i have no signal. I do not belive it is ths network because i have had AT&T for the last couple of years and have never had this problem. iPhone SUCKS!!!
Also handicapped or visually impaired people seem to have issues with the iPhone:
How can I get my contact list to my phone? Haven’t bought it yet because I’m too old to enter 200 numbers with any accuracy. Can’t Appe make a bigger screen for handicapped?
Note that all opinions listed here are taken from E-mails that I have received through the iPhone complaint form and are not my opinion unless otherwise stated.
