Wow, this a major complaint not only on the iPhone but the AT&T network in general, this time from a corporate client:
My company had 120 handsets/aircards with a combination of Nextel and Verizon we consolidated all phones/aircards onto the AT&T network including the (4) iPhones. WHAT A MISTAKE to change from Verizon. Too many dropped calls, no signal.. I thought my problems were related to the fact that I was using an iPhone not true every one of the 120 mobile phones and aircards we have, have been declared useless by AMAZINGLY each and every handset user. Many of whom have personal Verizon Wireless phones that they end up having to use because AT&T cannot complete or maintain calls without dropping or being in-audible.
Keep sending in those iPhone related complaints and we will make your voice heard.
One iPhone customer submitted this complained on his iPhone:
Well Apple has definitely lost a customer. By using Microsoft-like tactics, they have alienated many loyal customers and I am one. If Apple had a shread of decency left in their ranks, they would remember where they came from, who they were and what they represented to armies of loyal followers, those of us who used to bleed in 7 colors (and if you can remember back that far you are seriously dating yourself). Shame on you Apple, my iPhone is no more than a paperweight right now and I am using something else… ANYTHING else.
I like the part with “Microsoft-like tactics” that Apple is using.
Here is another one who seems generally disturbed by the iPhone:
The iphone is the biggest piece of crap I ever bought wish i stayed with htc or nokia 95 but paid 300 for it so will keep for at least 6 to 8 months if anyone is think of buying on don’t no cut and paste no video recording no mms nousing phone as mass storage everytime u jailbreak apple try and lock u again no flash what a piece of sh*t should have got a good phone and just bought the touch.
Here is a user that has problems transferring files from the iPhone to his multiple computers:
I hate the fact that you can’t transfer files from my iphone to my other computers. Most people have more than 1 computer at home and at work.We should be allowed to copy music, photos freely without having to go through the useless ITUNES. Itunes sucks, it lags my computer, it sucks up so much memory compared to other music players. It may be the worst software around. I hated Ipod nano, I regret buying Iphone. Sigh.
Apple is seriously overrated.
I can surely understand the frustration when you use different machines but you are only able to synch your beloved iPhone with just one machine.
Here is a big complaint about the AT&T international package and the usage of the web browser on hte iPhone while travelling:
IS THERE A WAY TO UNLOCK THE IPHONE TO SWITCH BACK TO ANOTHER PROVIDER?
In the past 2 months I have rapidly become a fan of AT&T hate club. I switched to AT&T from the dependable Verizon because of the iphone. Boy was that a mistake. It’s bad enough that my calls get dropped daily, average 3 times per day. I just came back from traveling abroad and found out that AT&T charged me $800 for internet usage that I never did and also all the calls that came in which I did not pick up. Apparently your internet browser needs to be absolutely turned off. If not, even if you are not surfing the internet, you are getting charged for all the data forwarded to your internet browser even when you did not use it at all. Also, if anyone calls you and you do not pick up the phone, you still get charged roaming. I had about $200 worth of calls charged at $1.29 per call simply because the phone rang and went into voicemail.
I did pay for the $20 international package so that I can read my emails while traveling. Big disappointment! My emails were so slow to download that I ended up not able to access the data because it took too long. Instead, I text. Which cost $.50 per text.
Lessons learned: AT&T = bad customer service, bad cell phone coverage, and misleading contracts.
Apparently more and more people are fedup by the quality problems that AT&T compard to the Verizon network.
Similar to other readers J reports that his iPhone drops calls and is not able to get a fix on the cell network for some time although with Verizon he can in the area where he lives:
For over 6 hours today my iPhone was completely useless for either incoming or outgoing calls. Calls would be dropped after 2-3 rings, or within the first 5 seconds of pickup. AT&T “Customer Assistance” was of no help whatsoever. Time to return to Verizon - zero dropped calls in the same location over 6 years of stellar customer service and phone service! Want an iPnone? Wait 2-3 years until you can actually use it as a phone.
Also submitted through the iPhone complaint submission form.
Again people seem to be complaining about the lack of photo sending from one phone to the other and the missing picture message (MSS) functionality on the iPhone:
I hate it that my $300 phone can’t picture message. Get a freebie phone and you can picture away. But oh, no, buy a “Top of the line” phone and picture messaging isn’t even an option. Seriously bad deal if you ask me!! At&t/Apple need to get if fixed.
Honestly, the Apple iPhone is the worst piece of junk EVER! Who develops a phone that cannot forward text messages or play videos that people send you from their phone? How about not being able to view photos sent to you from another phone? These are BASIC things and the iphone can’t do them. Wow. I love the MAC, but the iphone is horrible. I am telling EVERYONE to stay away from it.
