This user reports how he fixed his iPhone headset connector with super glue instead of the the Apple service:
The male end of the iphone headphone broke off inside my phone. Made an “appointment” 80 miles from home to meet with the Apple techs and was told to bad it’s not warranty covered, you have to buy a new phone. (I bought it 60 days ago). Came home put super glue inside the adapter where it broke on the headsets, stuck into the hole, waited a few minutes and it came right out. Apple will not help you, even though they will tell you it’s a common complaint / problem.
